Pets & Animal Care

Essential oils may be used for pets and animals in many of the same ways they are used to support the human body. Many professional pet trainers and veterinarians use essential oils to support animals. Care and safety, as with humans, must be used when applying essential oils to animals. Essential oils are very potent so in most cases a single drop is all that may be necessary to provide a therapeutic effect.*

With animal’s heightened sensitivity to smell, essential oils should not be applied near their nose but rather be applied diluted on their back or behind their ears.  Test the oil by holding the bottle out for the animal and see his reaction and let your pet decide if he wants the oil.  A few drops of TerraShield® or Peppermint in a spray bottle filled with water will help keep your pet cool while repelling bugs.
